Digital Scan & Treatment Planning

Your teeth are scanned digitally to create a precise 3D model. Your dentist uses this to map out every movement stage and show you a digital preview of your expected final result.

Custom Tray Fabrication

A series of custom aligner trays are fabricated to move your teeth incrementally. Each tray represents approximately 0.25mm of movement.

Wearing & Progressing

You wear each tray for 1 to 2 weeks, 20 to 22 hours per day. Progress appointments every 6 to 8 weeks allow your dentist to monitor movement and issue new trays.

Final Trays & Retention

Once all movements are complete, teeth are in their target positions. A fitted retainer is provided to maintain your result permanently.

For mild to moderate cases — crowding, spacing, and many bite issues — clear aligners produce excellent results comparable to braces. For complex cases involving significant rotations, large overbites, or skeletal discrepancies, traditional braces give the orthodontist more control and are usually recommended.

For effective tooth movement, aligners must be worn 20 to 22 hours per day. Wearing them fewer hours significantly slows progress and can cause trays to no longer fit correctly. Remove only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and oral hygiene.

Each new tray causes pressure and mild discomfort for the first 24 to 48 hours — a sign that the tray is doing its job. This is much milder than the soreness after brace adjustments and resolves quickly.

Depending on the complexity of your case, treatment typically ranges from 6 to 18 months. Mild cases are often completed in 6 to 9 months. Complex cases take longer and may require additional refinement trays.

In some cases this is possible, but it depends on how much movement has already occurred and what remains. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Some patients complete the majority of their treatment with braces and finish with aligners.
