No. Scaling and polishing is not painful for most patients. You may feel some sensitivity or pressure around the gum line, but it is not a painful treatment. Patients with heavy tartar build-up may experience mild temporary discomfort. No anaesthetic is required.
No. Root canal treatment is carried out under modern local anaesthesia. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable it is — the relief from toothache afterwards is usually far greater than any discomfort during the procedure.
A root canal typically takes 60–90 minutes per session. Most cases complete in one to two visits depending on the severity of infection and the tooth involved.
Professional laser teeth whitening carried out by a qualified dentist does not damage enamel when performed correctly. We assess your teeth first and use clinically approved concentrations. DIY kits carry a higher risk of enamel damage due to incorrect application.
Scaling and polishing is a routine clean above and just below the gum line — recommended every 6 months. Deep cleaning (root planing) goes further below the gum line to treat gum disease. Your dentist will assess which is appropriate for you.
Dental implants are available at Dovers Dental Clinic, 60a Akintunde Adeyemi Drive, Lekki Phase 1. Book a consultation to discuss your options, timeline, and pricing.
Most patients benefit from professional cleaning every 6 months. Those with a history of gum disease or heavy tartar may need it every 3–4 months. Your dentist will recommend the right schedule after your examination.
